Updates

What has changed lately.

New pieces, restocks, and the occasional note on looking after what you already own.

Every piece now has its own page

The catalogue has been rebuilt. Each of the 295 pieces in stock now has its own address, with the metal, the gold weight, the stone count and the total carat weight set out in full, along with whether the diamonds are laboratory grown or the coloured stones natural.

The reason is simple enough: people ask the same four questions at a viewing, and all four are now answered before you arrive. You can send a link to one piece rather than describing it down the phone.

Filtering by stone, not just by budget

You can now filter the catalogue by stone origin as well as by category, metal, weight and budget. Laboratory-grown diamonds and natural coloured stones are separate filters, and a piece holding both answers to either.

It matters more than it sounds. A customer who wants malachite, onyx or mother-of-pearl is not looking for the same thing as one who wants pavé, and until now both were wading through the same 295 pieces.

Caring for mother-of-pearl and coloured stones

Mother-of-pearl, malachite and turquoise are softer and more porous than diamond, and they do not like what diamond tolerates. Perfume, hairspray and chlorine all dull the surface, and an ultrasonic cleaner can lift an inlay out of its setting entirely.

Put the piece on last when you dress and take it off first. Wipe it with a dry soft cloth, never a dip cleaner. If it needs more than that, bring it to us rather than to a high-street counter.
